Reimagining Workplace Dynamics: Equity at Work Course II
Reimagining Workplace Dynamics: Equity at Work Course II
Have you ever been at work and heard a colleague talking about Black Lives Matter but they don’t want to discuss racialized patterns that exist in day to day interactions at work?
Have you read about racial inequities or been to a training but are left wondering what you can do?
In our world where racial inequities abound, many employees and organizations struggle to confront them head on even when they express values and commitments to racial equity work.
All employees deserve optimal workplace conditions in which they can bring their gifts, talents, and training to bear. In today’s workplace “business as usual” tactics perpetuate disadvantage for people of color, and in particular women of color, while creating advantage for white people, in particular white men.
A new approach to working and leading is required. One that challenges our assumptions about workplace fairness practices, builds our analysis of what advantages some and disadvantages others, and leads us to co-create conditions in which all employees can thrive.
Course Two, which includes two-3 hour live online group learning and coaching sessions via Zoom and about 30 minutes of self-guided prework before each session, will provide tools for disruption by:
Mapping Our Own Conditions: Participants will name and make visible the current conditions in their workplace
Practicing Tools and Strategies: Participants will learn practical tools and strategies for disrupting systemic advantage and disadvantage and enacting meaningful change.
NOTE: A participant must take Course 1 in order to successfully enroll in Course 2
